Products for industrial and commercial applications are often at the leading edge of technology, requiring a very close design and development relationship between the client and our appointed team of designers and engineers.
Product Partners understands the requirements of 'industrial product' design and development for many applications. For instance, our extensive experience of drives and controls for clients such as Baldor, Parker Hannifin and Control Techniques has provided us with unrivalled knowledge of enclosure design for high-voltage electronics and associated heat dissipation issues whilst meeting the arduous requirements of global approvals bodies including UL in the USA and CE in Europe.
In addition to the technological requirements, we always ensure the resulting 'industrial product' is distinguished with aesthetic appeal and appropriate ergonomics to achieve brand leadership and market success.
Product Partners industrial design process is simple and successful, from the outset we become central to the design and development program, acting as a catalyst to drive the project forwards to meet the pre-defined targets and deadlines.
Our development philosophy is based upon simple communication, whether it is face to face or using technology to convey; messages, ideas and plans. We will communicate with all areas of your business, from; marketing to engineering, sales to maintenance, assembly to management and repair to recycling – it is important for us to understand all areas of your business to create the perfect industrial design.
Product Partners industrial design skills have been most notably honed with a combined fifty plus years of design and development experience gained by the senior partners; Steve Gallichan and Paul Neal.
After initially meeting at the Central School of Art and Design in the early 1980's, both left with their respective degrees in Industrial Design (engineering) to commence their junior careers at leading design consultancies; Seymour Powell and Colin Cheetham Design Partnership. The two met again in the mid 1980’s when they were both employed as designers at Ogle Design in Letchworth. Working with the seminal designer Tom Karen, Steve and Paul were responsible for the industrial design and development of products for; Electrolux, Shell, Oxford Instruments and Northern Telecom to name but a few.
After a period at Level Six as senior designers, Steve and Paul established Product Partners, a new design consultancy with a heritage going all the way back to the Festival of Britain in 1951.
